- It is speculated that she is a friend or familiar of Yumi Murasaki, as she appears in the final stage as a midboss and the fact that on Demons in Wonderland cover, Yumi appears with thorns similar to Shokubutsu's thorns.
- Shokubutsu was originally going to be a human called Rui Shokubutsu instead of a carnivorous plant youkai. And instead of a swamp, she was going to live in a bamboo forest and have the ability to create bamboo.
